Aubameyang signs two-year deal with Spain's Deportivo

Gabonese forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang arrived in A Coruña on Saturday to join Spanish club RC Deportivo for the next two seasons. This marks his return to LaLiga EA Sports after a stint with Barcelona in the 2021-2022 season. Aubameyang's flight from Madrid landed shortly before noon at Alvedro airport. He appeared smiling, posing for photographers with a Deportivo scarf. He later signed autographs and took photos with fans before leaving with club personnel. The former Olympique Marseille player will play for Deportivo until 2028. He joins the team from Marseille, where he participated in the Champions League last season. This is the sixth signing for coach Antonio Hidalgo's squad as they prepare for their return to Spain's top division after an eight-year absence, having been promoted from LaLiga Hypermotion (Second Division) last season. Aubameyang will compete for a position with young Bil Nsongo and Dutchman Zakaria Eddahchouri, with more reinforcements expected. The new Deportivo attacker will have his second spell in Spanish football. During the 2021-2022 season, he scored 13 goals in 24 matches for FC Barcelona. Last season with Olympique Marseille, he played 40 matches across Ligue 1, the Cup, and the Champions League, scoring 14 goals.
