Austrian teenager Lilli Tagger wins first professional title in Prague

Eighteen-year-old Austrian tennis player Lilli Tagger has captured her first professional title, triumphing at the WTA 250 tournament in Prague. Tagger defeated Ukraine's Daria Snigur in the final on Sunday with a score of 7-6 (3), 6-2, marking a significant milestone in her burgeoning career.

Tagger, currently ranked 74th in the world, entered the match as a slight underdog against Snigur, who is ranked 54th. Both players were vying for their maiden WTA title, adding extra pressure to the final showdown. The first set was a tightly contested affair, with both players exchanging service breaks. Ultimately, Tagger showcased her composure by winning the tie-break 7-3.

Carrying the momentum from the first set, Tagger applied pressure on Snigur in the second. The Ukrainian player struggled to maintain her serve, conceding two breaks. Tagger capitalized on these opportunities, closing out the match with a decisive 6-2 victory in the second set.
