Azerbaijani President Aliyev Highlights Kazakhstan’s Strategic Role in Regional Projects

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev lauded Kazakhstan's expanding strategic role in vital regional initiatives, emphasizing the necessity of robust bilateral cooperation for the development of the Caspian region. Speaking at the third Shusha Global Media Forum, Aliyev noted that relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are deepening across various sectors, including the reconstruction of Azerbaijan’s liberated territories and major infrastructure projects connecting Central Asia and the South Caucasus.

"Without active cooperation between our countries, the implementation of any major transport project in the Caspian region would be impossible," Aliyev stated, underscoring Kazakhstan's active modernization of its ports and logistics infrastructure. He pointed to the ongoing coordination between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan with Georgia and Türkiye in transport development. This four-party cooperation focuses on harmonizing tariff policies, advancing digitalization, simplifying administrative procedures, and enhancing freight transportation efficiency.

Energy cooperation also forms a key pillar of the partnership, with Kazakh oil being transported through Azerbaijan. President Aliyev expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan and its people for their support in reconstructing Karabakh, citing the inauguration of the Kurmangazy Children’s Creativity Center in Fuzuli, built by Kazakhstan. He also acknowledged the significant role of the personal relationship between the presidents of both nations in strengthening cooperation and advancing regional agendas. Aliyev shared his positive impressions from a recent visit to Kazakhstan, particularly noting the historic city of Turkistan and the country's dedication to preserving its cultural heritage.
