Bauchi police nab suspect, recover N1.2m goods

The Bauchi State Police Command has successfully apprehended Saidu Isah, a 27-year-old suspect implicated in a significant theft case. Operatives from the 'E' Division, Yelwa, made the arrest during a routine patrol, recovering valuable items including three smart television sets, each estimated at N400,000, bringing the total recovered goods to N1.2 million. This swift action demonstrates the command's commitment to combating crime within the state.

On 3rd May, 2026, a patrol team from the Division arrested one Saidu Isah, male, 27 years old, of Almuri in Misau Local Government Area. The suspect was apprehended with three smart television sets, each valued at N400,000.

During interrogation, Isah reportedly confessed to his involvement and implicated an accomplice known as Abdul, also referred to as 'PA,' who remains at large. The duo allegedly broke into the premises of the National Broadcasting Commission in Yelwan Tudu, Bauchi, and made off with the televisions. The police are actively pursuing Abdul to bring him to justice and recover any further stolen property.

The duo, in furtherance of their unlawful act, trespassed into the premises and carted away the three television sets.
