I have been very patient with Ogboinbiri community. Violent disputes have been ongoing for about two to three years now.

Governor Diri emphasized that security is a collective responsibility and that the state cannot tolerate further bloodshed, especially in an oil-producing community where disputes over resources have been a recurring issue. He pointed out the irony that the community, despite its oil wealth, receives "peanuts" compared to the profits reaped by oil companies, suggesting that resource-related grievances may fuel the conflict.

The paramount ruler of Ogboinbiri is hereby sacked as he has yet to be recognised by the state government. I was waiting for peace to be restored for us to recognise him, but, unfortunately, I am very sure he cannot hold that community together.
