Belavia flight makes emergency landing in Turkey after passenger falls ill

A Belavia flight bound for Minsk was forced to make an emergency landing in Ankara, Turkey, on Monday evening after a passenger fell seriously ill during the journey. The aircraft had departed from Sharm el-Sheikh.

According to reports, the passenger began experiencing severe discomfort during the flight, complaining of a headache and appearing unsteady. Flight attendants noticed the seriousness of the situation and initiated emergency procedures. Passengers were instructed to remain in their seats as the crew rushed to assist.

Two doctors on board attempted to provide medical aid and perform resuscitation efforts. However, the passenger's condition continued to deteriorate. Faced with the critical situation, the flight captain made the decision to divert to Ankara to ensure the passenger could receive immediate medical attention upon landing.

Despite the swift actions taken by the flight crew and the medical professionals on board, and the emergency landing, the passenger tragically passed away. The airline confirmed that all necessary measures were taken to assist the passenger.
