Belgrade prosecutors review case of woman seriously injured in high-speed crash

The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade is scrutinizing a case where a young woman sustained severe injuries in a car accident near Ušće. The office has requested case files from the Third Basic Public Prosecutor's Office concerning N.T., who is suspected of committing a serious offense against public traffic safety on July 22.

According to media reports, N.T. was allegedly driving an Audi at approximately 200 kilometers per hour near the Ušće roundabout, performing drifts before losing control and crashing into a utility pole. The passenger in the vehicle, identified as M.N., suffered serious bodily harm as a result of the impact. The suspect, reportedly the son of a professional race car driver, is also said to have removed the vehicle from the scene with his father's assistance before authorities could conduct a proper investigation.

The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade has requested the case files against N.T., suspected of committing serious offenses against public traffic safety.

In its request, the Belgrade prosecutor's office has also ordered a written explanation regarding the decision not to propose detention for the suspect. This inquiry is particularly focused on the circumstances surrounding the alleged removal of evidence from the accident site, which may have hindered the official investigation. The incident was reportedly reported by the parents of the young man who was in the passenger seat.

Media outlets have further suggested that N.T. is involved in racing himself and that he and his father attempted to evade responsibility by removing the car after the accident. The investigation aims to clarify the sequence of events and determine accountability for the serious injuries sustained by M.N. and the alleged obstruction of justice.
