BEM UI Demands Strict Sanctions for Campus Sexual Violence Cases

The Indonesian Student Union (BEM UI) has issued a strong condemnation of the sexual violence that has occurred on campus. In a press conference held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, BEM UI representatives, including Vice Chairman Fathimah Azzahra and Faculty of Law Student Union Chairman Anandaku Dimas Rumi, alongside the victim's legal counsel Timotius Rajagukguk, voiced their outrage.

BEM UI is demanding decisive action from the university, specifically calling for the immediate issuance of a decree to dismiss or expel the 16 students implicated in these heinous acts. This stance underscores the student body's commitment to ensuring a safe and just environment for all students.

Furthermore, BEM UI has appealed to the broader community to uphold and respect the privacy of the victims. This call highlights the importance of protecting those who have been affected by such incidents and ensuring they are not subjected to further harm or intrusion.
