Bersatu urges PN partners not to question its rights

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Vice President Ahmad Faizal Azumu has called on component parties within the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition to respect Bersatu's rights as a legitimate member.

Azumu expressed his hope that Bersatu's role would not be sidelined, recalling instances where the party was not invited to meetings. "So it is true what I and Bersatu's leadership have often said before. I hope, as members, our rights and roles are not marginalized. Don't wait until election time is too close, and we are not invited to meetings," he told Utusan Malaysia.

His remarks came after PN Chairman Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar confirmed that Bersatu's position within the coalition remains unchanged. However, Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan) Vice President Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan noted that Bersatu needs to resolve its internal issues regarding the minimum number of attendees required for Supreme Leadership Council (MPT) meetings according to its constitution.

Wan Saiful explained that while there was a directive for Bersatu not to be invited to PN meetings until their internal issues were resolved, the final decision to expel a member rests with the PN Supreme Council. He emphasized that Bersatu's presence in meetings is subject to prior directives and they should not attend until their internal problems are settled to avoid negative impacts on PN.
