BN's Negeri Sembilan Win Proves Voters Reject Racial Politics: Wan Rosdy

Barisan Nasional's victory in the Negeri Sembilan state election demonstrates that voters have rejected racial politics, according to UMNO Vice President Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail. He asserted that the win by an MCA candidate in the Chennah state constituency, which has a majority of Malay voters, proves this point.

If we look at DUN Chennah, the MCA candidate contested in an area with a majority of Malay voters, yet Malay voters still gave their support to the MCA candidate.

"If BN played racial issues as accused by the opposition, the MCA candidate in that area would not have won," Wan Rosdy stated. He highlighted that the support from Malay voters for the MCA candidate in Chennah shows BN is not racist and does not engage in racial politics.

Regarding potential political cooperation between BN and Perikatan Nasional (PN) in future elections, Wan Rosdy indicated that discussions have not yet begun for states like Pahang. He explained that any collaboration would be assessed gradually based on suitability before party leadership makes a decision.

This proves we are not racist and do not play racial issues. If we played racial issues, the MCA candidate in DUN Chennah would not have won.

"For now, we will settle Negeri Sembilan first. After that, perhaps Melaka. We will look at this on a case-by-case basis and leave it to the leadership to decide," he said. Wan Rosdy expressed hope that the Negeri Sembilan election results will motivate BN to further strengthen public support ahead of the 16th General Election.
