BN will not compromise principles in political cooperation, says Secretary-General

Barisan Nasional (BN) Secretary-General Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abd. Kadir stated that the political cooperation forged during the Negeri Sembilan state election does not require BN to abandon its core principles or adopt the political viewpoints of other parties. He asserted that BN rejects and will not compromise with any statements that promote racial sentiment or question the standing of any ethnic group within Malaysia.

BN maintains its commitment to moderation, stability, and unity, advocating for a political approach based on power-sharing, mutual respect, and moderation, principles it has upheld for over six decades. The party intends to continue defending the Federal Constitution, the Rukun Negara (National Principles), the special position of Islam as the nation's religion, the institution of Malay Rulers, and the special rights of the Malays. Additionally, BN will protect the rights of Bumiputeras and all Malaysian citizens, emphasizing these foundational elements that have united the country since independence.

Furthermore, BN rejects fear-based politics, which it argues is used by certain factions to create anxiety about ethnic groups being threatened under specific political collaborations. The party believes that divisive politics based on ethnicity have no place in building a unified nation after nearly seven decades of independence, labeling fear politics as dangerous for fostering suspicion, prejudice, and hatred. BN aims to lead by building bridges of unity, strengthening public confidence, and offering a shared future for all Malaysians, rejecting those who erect racial barriers and propagate fear.
