Body in Suitcase Found in Perak River Ruled Murder

Malaysian police are investigating the discovery of a woman's body, stuffed inside a suitcase and found floating in the Perak River, as a murder.

The Kuala Kangsar District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Heisham Harun, stated that the victim is believed to be a woman in her 30s, though her identity has not yet been confirmed. The grim discovery was reported by a local man who noticed a suspicious suitcase in the middle of the river near the Dataran Lembah jetty.

Upon arrival, police found the body of a woman inside the suitcase. Medical officials from Taiping Hospital pronounced her dead at the scene before the body was transported to the hospital for further examination. The cause of death and the circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.
