Bogor Regency distributes 1.8 million liters of water amid drought affecting 31 sub-districts

The Bogor Regency government in West Java, Indonesia, has distributed approximately 1.8 million liters of clean water to combat a drought affecting 31 sub-districts. The regional administration is actively working to ensure that the clean water needs of the affected communities are met.

Bupati Bogor Rudy Susmanto stated that the local government is continuing its efforts to address the drought and guarantee sufficient clean water for residents. Data from the Bogor Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) indicates that between June 10 and August 7, 2026, clean water crisis management efforts were implemented at 343 distribution points.

The drought has impacted 132 villages and sub-districts across the 31 affected sub-districts. During this period, the BPBD distributed a total of 1,847,000 liters of clean water. Of this amount, 1,439,000 liters were delivered directly to residents, while 408,000 liters were used to fill water tanks.

The distribution of clean water has not only targeted the needs of the general population but also extended to health facilities, places of worship, and educational institutions experiencing water shortages. These measures are being taken as a precaution against the peak of the dry season, which the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has forecast for August 2026.
