As articulated by youth groups coordinator Alhaji Babandi Shehu, Ndume is more than just a senator; he is a "nationalist" who fearlessly holds the executive accountable and speaks truth to power, regardless of the consequences.

At this stage of its political history, Nigeria needs senators like Ndume who fearlessly checks the excesses of the executive and tells the truth to power caring not whose ox is gored.

This sentiment is echoed by Junaid Jibril Maiva, Ndume's Senior Legislative Aide, who detailed the senator's impressive track record. His accomplishments include sponsoring 76 people-oriented bills and playing a pivotal role in establishing key educational and developmental institutions such as the Federal College of Education, Gwoza; the proposed Federal Medical Center, Kwaya-Kusar; the Federal College of Agriculture, Shani; the Nigerian Army University, Biu; and the North East Development Commission. Furthermore, Ndume has been instrumental in providing housing for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
