Brazil’s electoral prosecutor investigates big tech and seeks TSE data on AI platform meetings

Brazil’s Electoral Prosecutor’s Office has opened a proceeding to examine whether big tech companies operating generative artificial intelligence systems have breached electoral rules.

As part of the inquiry, the office asked the Superior Electoral Court, known as the TSE, to provide information it considers relevant about the court’s meetings with the companies.

The request places the platforms’ interactions with the electoral court within an official investigation into the use of generative AI in the electoral sphere.
