Lula narrows campaign team and plans reinforcement after complaining about results

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is restricting the core of his re-election campaign and planning to strengthen it after expressing dissatisfaction with its results.

Aides say Lula has been complaining about the stagnation of his government’s approval ratings. The president had expected public assessments to improve after electoral advertising began, but that improvement failed to appear.

Lula still leads the polls, according to the report. The lack of movement in his ratings has nonetheless prompted changes to the campaign structure and plans for additional reinforcement.
