Brazil's Fiselis takes bronze in Pan American Gymnastics Championships dominated by US

Brazilian gymnast Thais Fiselis secured the bronze medal in the individual all-around competition at the Pan American Gymnastics Championships held in Rio de Janeiro. Fiselis was the sole Latin American representative on the podium in an event that saw American gymnasts Claire Pease and Charleigh Bullock claim the gold and silver medals, respectively.

Pease emerged victorious with a total score of 54.498 points across the vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise. Her compatriot Bullock followed closely with 54.032 points. Fiselis achieved third place with 52.232 points, while her Brazilian teammate Sophia Weisberg finished fourth with 51.399 points, ahead of Canada's Lia-Monica Fontaine in fifth.

The competition continues with the men's individual all-around final later on Friday. Attention will also be on the apparatus finals on Sunday, particularly the vault event, where two-time Olympic champion Rebeca Andrade is a strong favorite. Andrade recently topped the qualification standings for the horse vault after a two-year hiatus following the Paris Olympics.
