Bride abduction dispute ends in bloodshed: Father and son killed in field

A violent dispute over an alleged bride abduction has resulted in the deaths of a father and son in southern Turkey. The incident occurred in the Aydın neighborhood of the Kozan district, where Ali Ersoy, 55, and his son Ömer Ersoy, 29, were harvesting wheat on their farm.

According to initial reports, E.K. arrived at the scene in a tractor and opened fire on the father and son. Ali Ersoy died at the scene from the shotgun blast. His son, Ömer Ersoy, was critically injured and transported to Kozan State Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries despite medical intervention.

Following the attack, E.K. fled the scene but was apprehended by gendarmerie forces shortly after. The motive for the attack is believed to be a long-standing feud between the families. Approximately two years ago, E.K.'s daughter eloped and married Ali Ersoy's other son, Y.E., reportedly sparking the ongoing animosity that culminated in this deadly confrontation.
