BSI Funds Education for Young IT Talent Appreciated by NASA

PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) has awarded a scholarship to Ibrahim Al Abrar, a young IT prodigy from Boyolali who received recognition from NASA for his skills in science and technology. The scholarship will support his education from junior high school through high school.

BSI's Director, Anggoro Eko Cahyo, stated that this support is a long-term investment in developing Indonesia's digital talent. "Ibrahim Al Abrar's achievement proves that Indonesian children have extraordinary potential to become world-class innovators," Cahyo said. "This is BSI's step to ensure such talent has access to education, mentorship, and opportunities to grow."

In addition to the scholarship, BSI is sponsoring Al Abrar and his parents on a pilgrimage to Mecca. This initiative is part of BSI's broader scholarship program, which has been running since 2021 using corporate zakat funds. The program has supported over 10,162 beneficiaries across 188 universities and 1,170 schools nationwide.

So far, 1,500 scholarship recipients have completed their education and are now employed by national companies or pursuing further studies. For 2026, BSI plans to offer scholarships to another 5,250 students from underprivileged backgrounds who demonstrate academic achievement but face economic limitations.

This gesture highlights BSI's commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering Indonesia's competitiveness on the global stage through education and technological advancement.
