Building Digital Security Awareness, 420 Students Participate in Telkom's CyberHeroes Program

PT Telkom Indonesia is proactively addressing the growing challenges of digital security among the nation's youth through its innovative CyberHeroes program. This initiative has equipped 420 students from various Indonesian schools with essential knowledge about cybersecurity, aiming to cultivate safe, wise, and responsible internet usage. In an era where nearly 80 percent of Indonesians are internet users, with young people spending an average of 5.4 hours daily online, the need for robust digital literacy is paramount. Telkom's program directly confronts this need, providing practical lessons on identifying cyberbullying, recognizing manipulation tactics, and understanding the critical importance of safeguarding personal data.

The CyberHeroes program stems from a recognition of the increasing digital risks faced by children and teenagers. Data from UNICEF and the Ministry of Communication and Digital highlight concerning statistics: nearly 80 percent of Indonesians access the internet, yet a significant portion of young people have encountered inappropriate content or experienced discomfort online. Telkom's commitment, as articulated by SGM Social Responsibility Hery Susanto, is to instill a sense of digital responsibility from an early age.
