BYD Targets 4,200 Vehicle Orders at GIIAS 2026

BYD Indonesia is targeting 4,200 vehicle orders at the upcoming Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026, aiming to surpass its previous achievement. Luther T. Panjaitan, Head of PR & Government Relations for PT BYD Motor Indonesia, expressed optimism about market trends, noting an expected increase in the second half of 2026. The electric vehicle market has already seen significant growth, with a 39.4 percent rise in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025.

To achieve its sales goals, BYD will introduce new models, including the BYD M6 DM, a plug-in hybrid EV, and high-end vehicles like the Denza. The company has seen a strong initial response to the M6 DM in Indonesia, with nearly 400 units sold in the first three days, making it a top-selling PHEV model.

BYD is also manufacturing the M6 model in Indonesia, ensuring it meets the government's local component requirement of over 40 percent. This domestic production does not compromise the quality or components compared to the international version.
