Canciones de Otoño Festival Champions New Voices in Uruguayan Music Scene

The Canciones de Otoño festival returns this week for its 12th edition, continuing its decade-long mission to champion new voices in the singer-songwriter scene. This year's festival, running from April 23rd to 25th, promises a vibrant showcase of both emerging and established local talent across two distinct venues in Uruguay.

The opening night on Thursday, April 23rd, will be held at the Centro Cultural Parque del Plata with free admission. Featured artists include Clara Pregliasco, a finalist from the festival's inaugural competition, whose music blends pop with folk roots and intimate lyrics. She will share the stage with Belén Giacussa, a Canelones-based artist who recently released her debut EP, 'Mundo alterno'.

The festival's Montevideo leg will take place on Saturday and Sunday at Sala Camacuá. Saturday's lineup boasts Agusdelagua, a singer-songwriter from Salto known for her fusion of Uruguayan and Latin American rhythms, and Nikyllo, an artist from Toledo whose urban sound is influenced by murga and popular music. Sunday will feature Aldana, a finalist from 'La Voz Kids' signed to Bizarro Records, celebrated for her powerful ballads, and Pablo Félix, a keyboardist and composer from Melo who has already released two EPs.

Since its inception in 2015, Canciones de Otoño has consistently provided a platform for artists to connect and for audiences to discover the current landscape of original songwriting. This year's programming reaffirms that commitment, offering a diverse range of styles and experiences that highlight the richness of Uruguay's musical talent.
