Car rams crowd in northern France, leaving one dead and several injured

Tragedy struck the city of Caen in northwestern France on Wednesday when a man intentionally drove his car into a crowd of people. The violent incident, which occurred near the city's train station, resulted in at least one fatality and left ten others injured, according to emergency services.

Authorities indicated that the driver targeted the group following an altercation in the area. The attack sent shockwaves through the community, prompting a swift response from police and firefighters. Emergency services reported that one victim succumbed to their injuries, while four others sustained severe wounds and six suffered less critical harm.

Following the attack, the perpetrator fled the scene. However, law enforcement officials were able to track down and arrest the suspect approximately 20 kilometers away from Caen, bringing a swift end to the immediate pursuit. The investigation into the motive behind the attack is ongoing.
