Carlos Domínguez wins bronze in Brazil's Copa América de Pista

Paraguayan cyclist Carlos Vidal Domínguez secured a bronze medal in the Elite Men's Omnium at the Copa América de Pista C2, held Sunday at the Maringá velodrome in Paraná, Brazil. He earned 137 points across the four disciplines: Scratch, Tempo, Elimination, and Points Race.

Domínguez finished just five points behind the silver medalist, Chilean Martín Mancilla Labrin, who secured 142 points. The gold medal went to another Chilean, Ignacio Manbran Sánchez, with 175 points.

In the Elimination race, Domínguez placed sixth among 18 competitors. Other Paraguayan participants included David Antonio Alfonso, who finished ninth in the Omnium with 88 points and sixteenth in the Elimination race, as well as Alice Hahn and Isaías Galeano, who gained international experience in sprint and endurance events.

The Copa América de Pista C2 is part of the international UCI C2 calendar, offering valuable ranking points crucial for Paraguayan cyclists' qualification for future international competitions. This podium finish caps a strong season for Domínguez, who also won the U23 category at the Grand Prix de Ciclismo de Cascavel in March.
