Ceasefire Deal Fails to Stop Israeli Attacks; 17 Palestinians Killed in Gaza

A ceasefire agreement announced by the Board of Peace (BoP) has failed to quell Israeli aggression, with recent military actions resulting in the deaths of at least 17 Palestinians and injuries to dozens more across the Gaza Strip in a single 24-hour period. This escalation marks a stark violation of the 297-day-old Gaza truce.

Israeli forces launched a series of attacks, including airstrikes on residential areas. In Deir al-Balah, Sheikh Kamal Abu Ma’ili and his wife were killed when their home was hit, while Saber Mohammad Khalil Rabee died after his house was bombed. In Gaza City, three Palestinians were killed in an airstrike on an apartment building, and another civilian, Mohammad Abdul Ahmad Abu Ras, was killed when forces targeted a group of civilians shortly after his release from Israeli prison.

Further attacks targeted civilians near the Al-Ghazali intersection and a home in the Tal al-Hawa area, resulting in more casualties. The Palestinian Red Crescent evacuated a body following an Israeli strike in the southern Gaza City. In southern Gaza, three Palestinians, including a child, were killed when an apartment building belonging to the al-Hams family was struck.

The attacks extended to infrastructure, with Israeli forces striking a warehouse belonging to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah. This assault destroyed two of the facility's four medicine storage buildings and severely damaged two others, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health. The ministry decried the destruction of medical supplies as a "heinous crime" and warned that Gaza's healthcare system is on the brink of total collapse, facing critical shortages of essential medicines and medical equipment. The Palestinian National Council labeled the attack on the drug warehouses a "new war crime."
