Champion Cruz Azul defeats Necaxa, ends losing streak

Cruz Azul, the current champion, secured a crucial 1-3 victory against Necaxa on Friday, snapping a three-match losing streak in the Mexican Apertura tournament.

The goals for Cruz Azul were netted by Jeremy Márquez, Nicolás Ibáñez, and the Colombian Willer Ditta, sealing a dominant performance against a Necaxa side that struggled to respond. While Emilio Rodríguez managed to score for the home team, it was not enough to overcome Cruz Azul's offensive pressure.

Cruz Azul controlled possession and created more scoring opportunities throughout the match. Necaxa, managed by Martín Varini, attempted to assert themselves in the second half but conceded a significant blow early on when Ibáñez scored for a 0-2 lead. Ditta further extended the advantage in the 53rd minute with a precise shot.

Necaxa managed a late consolation goal in the 83rd minute through Emilio Rodríguez, but it did little to alter the outcome.
