Changhua Announces Labor Day Holiday Traffic Controls

As the Labor Day holiday approaches, the Changhua County Police Bureau has rolled out its traffic management plan to ease congestion, particularly around the National Freeway No. 1 Puyan System Interchange. This year's plan involves significant closures and detours, aiming to guide the flow of traffic smoothly during the three-day break. The closures at the Puyan System Interchange on National Freeway No. 1 and Provincial Highway No. 76 are critical points of focus, with specific timings for both northbound and southbound ramps. The police are urging motorists to pay close attention to these changes and utilize alternative routes to avoid delays.

Beyond the freeway adjustments, the plan also addresses potential bottlenecks at the Changhua and Yuanlin interchanges on National Freeway No. 1, which often experience backlogs extending to surface roads due to ramp metering. Residents in Yuanlin and Xihu are encouraged to use alternative routes like County Highway No. 148, Provincial Highway No. 1, Provincial Highway No. 19, and County Highway No. 150 to access the Beidou Interchange. Similarly, those in the Changhua area are advised to use County Highway No. 138A, National Freeway No. 3 via the Hemei Interchange, or Provincial Highway No. 19 and County Highway No. 142 to reach the National Freeway No. 3. For those heading to the popular tourist spot of Lukang, flexible traffic control will be implemented around Tianhou Temple, with recommendations to park and use shared electric bicycles. Visitors from outside the county can access Lukang via National Freeway No. 1 or Provincial Highway No. 76, 17, and 61.
