Child and Grandparents Among Four Killed in Russian Attack on Kyiv Region

A Russian attack on the village of Pukhivka in the Kyiv region resulted in the deaths of three family members, a grandfather, grandmother, and their three-year-old grandson, along with another individual. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on his X account that the strike hit a residential building with no apparent military significance. During cleanup operations, another body was discovered, according to the Military Administration. In parallel, Russian forces launched drone and artillery attacks across the Ukrainian region of Kherson over the past 24 hours, causing at least two civilian fatalities and injuring 24 others. Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Military Administration, reported that Russian forces targeted critical infrastructure, social facilities, and residential areas. Seven high-rise buildings, eleven private homes, a church, a shop, a hairdresser, a gas station, an agricultural building, school buses, agricultural machinery, and private vehicles were damaged or destroyed. The Dnipropetrovsk region also experienced ten drone attacks, injuring one person, according to regional Military Administration head Oleksandr Ganzha. Following these latest attacks, Zelenskyy renewed his plea to international allies for enhanced missile interception capabilities. He emphasized the need for more advanced systems like Patriot, SAMP/T, NASAMS, Hawk, and F-16s to protect Ukrainian civilians from ongoing Russian missile and drone assaults.
