Chilean Tennis President Faces Arrest Warrant for Domestic Violence

An arrest warrant has been issued for Milovan Kegevic, the embattled president of the Chilean Tennis Federation, after he failed to appear for a court hearing. The Limache Guarantee Court ordered the arrest following accusations of domestic violence.

Kegevic was summoned to appear before Judge Paulina Martínez after his daughter filed a complaint. However, he did not attend the scheduled hearing. The prosecution, represented by Iván Morales, requested the arrest warrant, which the judge granted after Kegevic's defense failed to provide justification for his absence.

This legal trouble follows closely on the heels of Kegevic's disputed election. His victory in June was annulled by the Federation, with support from the Electoral Tribunal, due to allegations that he submitted falsified documents during the election process. The Chilean Olympic Committee (COCH) was subsequently appointed by the National Institute of Sports (IN) to oversee the federation's affairs.
