China's State Media Reveals First Look Inside New Type 100 Tank During Training

For the first time, Chinese state media outlet Xinhua has provided the public with an inside look at the nation's advanced 'Type 100' (ZTZ-100) main battle tank, moving beyond mere parade displays to showcase its capabilities in realistic field training. This release is significant, offering insights into the tank's operational readiness and design philosophy.

The newly released footage highlights the Type 100's high-speed maneuverability in challenging terrain and, crucially, offers the first-ever view of the crew operating within the vehicle. This internal perspective reveals a compact, heavily protected crew compartment, underscoring the design's emphasis on crew survivability by relocating them entirely within the hull, away from the traditional turret vulnerable to direct attack.

Key technological advancements are evident, including the Type 100's unmanned turret design, a departure from the current Type 99A. This, coupled with four phased-array radars and two GL-6 active protection systems, provides a 360-degree detection and interception capability against modern anti-tank threats.
