Chukwueze weighs La Liga return

Samuel Chukwueze's camp is actively pursuing a return to Spain's La Liga before the summer transfer window closes. The 27-year-old winger is currently with AC Milan after a loan spell at Fulham last season, but he is determined to earn a place in the squad under new coach Ruben Amorim.

Despite showing glimpses of his talent in England, Fulham opted not to sign Chukwueze permanently. Now back at AC Milan, he has featured in pre-season matches and hopes to impress Amorim. However, his representatives have focused their attention on Spain, where he previously enjoyed his most successful period with Villarreal.

According to Fichajes, Chukwueze's agents have contacted several La Liga clubs, including long-term admirers Real Betis and Celta Vigo. AC Milan is willing to consider offers, but the Italian club is demanding a significant fee for a permanent transfer, making negotiations challenging.

Amorim has emphasized Chukwueze's value to the team, particularly his ability to beat defenders one-on-one. "Chukwueze is staying with us; we need players who can play one-on-one," Amorim stated.

Chukwueze spent six seasons at Villarreal, making 207 appearances and scoring 37 goals. He was a key player in their 2020/21 UEFA Europa League triumph. He now faces a decision between fighting for his spot at Milan or returning to the league where he established himself as a top winger.
