Dimkpa unveils Nigeria Karate Federation blueprint

Chukwudi Dimkpa, the newly elected President of the Karate Federation of Nigeria, has unveiled an ambitious roadmap designed to revitalize Nigerian karate. His plan focuses on sustained growth, unity within the sport, and achieving international success.

In his inaugural address, Dimkpa outlined immediate priorities. These include convening the first board meeting to define the federation's strategic direction and initiating constructive engagement with all stakeholders to reunite the Nigerian karate community. The federation will also begin preparations for upcoming international events such as the Japanese Ambassadors Cup and UFAK Championships.

A key aspect of Dimkpa's vision is establishing a robust athlete development pathway, nurturing talent from the grassroots to the elite level. He also pledged to enhance the skills of coaches, referees, and technical officials through continuous education and certification programs, ensuring Nigeria remains competitive globally.

Dimkpa stressed the importance of collaboration with various bodies, including the National Sports Commission, the Union of African Karate Federations, the World Karate Federation, state associations, and development partners, to accelerate the sport's progress. He believes that the federation's success should be measured not only by medals but also by the strength of its institutions, the quality of its programs, and the opportunities provided to aspiring karatekas.
