Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov offered a reserved response when asked about the visit's purpose. He told The Washington Post that it involved "contacts between security services" without providing further details. Peskov also told TASS that "no contacts with Putin are planned." Earlier on Tuesday, Peskov stated that the Kremlin had no information about the US military aircraft landing at Vnukovo Airport in Moscow and that no meetings with US administration representatives were scheduled for that week.
