Clandestine Greenhouse Raided in Cucurpe, Sonora; Over 800 Marijuana Plants Seized

In a significant operation in Cucurpe, Sonora, coordinated security forces from federal, state, and municipal levels have successfully dismantled a clandestine marijuana cultivation site. The raid, which took place in the Barrio Bachimba neighborhood, uncovered a sophisticated greenhouse operation, highlighting the evolving methods employed in illicit drug production within the region.

The Fiscalía General de Justicia del Estado (FGJE) of Sonora reported that the operation yielded the seizure of 802 marijuana plants, along with specialized equipment such as 15 heating and lighting lamps and various components for environmental control. This discovery points to a well-established, technologically advanced cultivation setup, underscoring the challenges faced by law enforcement in combating organized crime.
