Clear Skies Nationwide Tomorrow, but Rain on the East Coast and a Chilly Morning

South Korea will generally see clear skies on Wednesday, but rain will continue through the day in parts of the east coast and mountain areas.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said the peninsula will lie on the edge of a high-pressure system over northern China. The Seoul metropolitan area and inland Gangwon will remain cloudy before gradually clearing late in the afternoon. The Gangwon east coast and mountains, along with the northern Gyeongsang east coast and northeastern mountains, will stay mostly cloudy through the afternoon.

Rainfall from Tuesday to Wednesday is expected to total 5 to 40 millimeters in the Gangwon mountains, 5 to 20 millimeters on the Gangwon coast, and 5 to 10 millimeters along the northern Gyeongsang coast and in northeastern mountain areas. Ulleungdo and Dokdo are expected to receive less than 5 millimeters.

Light rain of less than 0.1 millimeter may fall before dawn in Busan, Ulsan and the southern Gyeongsang coast. Morning lows will range from 15 to 22 C, while daytime highs are forecast at 22 to 30 C. Winds will be strong nationwide, with gusts of more than 70 kph possible along parts of the Gyeongsang coast and eastern Jeju.
