Clifford Chance Retains Top Spot in Polish Law Firm Rankings; Specialization Drives Success

Clifford Chance has reaffirmed its leading position in the Polish legal market, topping "Rzeczpospolita's" "Top of the Top" ranking for the fourth time. The firm secured a total of 16 awards, comprising eight team recommendations in areas such as banking and finance, M&A, private equity, and arbitration, alongside eight individual lawyer recognitions. This consistent performance underscores its comprehensive expertise and market influence.

Following closely in second place is Rymarz Zdort Maruta, which garnered 15 awards. Beyond its 12 team and individual accolades, the firm was also recognized for its innovative solutions, earned the top spot for advising on leading Polish market transactions in 2025, and received the "Transaction of the Year" award. These achievements highlight the firm's strength in complex advisory projects and its commitment to innovation.

Sołtysiński Kawecki & Szlęzak completed the top three with 12 awards, recognized for advising private clients, labor law, environmental protection, and intellectual property. The ranking also noted the significant role played by top firms in major transactions, including the "Transaction of the Year 2025." Rymarz Zdort Maruta advised Erste Group, while Greenberg Traurig and Baker McKenzie assisted Santander Bank Polska in a landmark acquisition valued at approximately 7 billion euros, marking the largest M&A deal in Poland and one of the biggest cross-border European banking operations in over two decades.

This year's ranking emphasizes that success in the legal sector is increasingly defined not just by firm size, but by specialization, the strength of expert teams, and the capacity to manage highly intricate projects. The report also highlighted RKKW – Kwaśnicki, Wróbel & Partnerzy for its strong performance among firms with up to 50 lawyers.
