Collect your PVCs, NDDC boss urges students

The Nigerian youths are the heartbeat of the new Nigeria that we all seek. Your energy, brilliance and voice would determine the direction our nation takes.

Samuel Ogbuku, the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has directly addressed students in tertiary institutions, emphasizing that their PVC is not just a card, but a key to unlocking their potential to shape the nation's future. Speaking at the launch of 'Project New Nigeria' in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Ogbuku articulated a vision where the energy and brilliance of Nigerian youth are channeled into electing leaders who truly represent their aspirations.

This initiative, supported by the Foundation for Citizens Empowerment, underscores a belief that active participation in elections is a direct demonstration of faith in Nigeria's capacity for growth and development. The message is clear: for the voices of the youth to be heard, for their demands for accountability and good governance to be met, they must possess the PVC and exercise their right to vote.

The NDDC's commitment to supporting such programs reflects a broader strategy to foster democratic engagement and empower young Nigerians. We are carrying out this exercise in all the universities in the region to give orientation and broaden students’ horizon on the need for them to collect their PVCs and actively participate in the voting exercise, as we believe that this is another way for the youths to control the economy.
