Colombia Pushes Forward at Games, Trails Mexico in Medal Count

Colombia is demonstrating a powerful showing at the Central American and Caribbean Games, solidifying its second-place position in the overall medal standings. The nation's athletes have earned a total of 25 gold medals, 24 silver, and 14 bronze, keeping them in close pursuit of leader Mexico. Archery has been a significant source of success, with Sara López clinching the individual compound women's gold medal. She further added to Colombia's tally by winning gold in the mixed team event alongside Pablo Gómez. Adding to the nation's success, María José Bohórquez dominated the golf competition, securing a gold medal. In taekwondo, Gloria Mosquera claimed gold in the +73 kg category. The Colombian gymnastics team also celebrated success, with Nicole Castellanos winning the individual trampoline event and Diego Giraldo and Santiago Parro taking gold in men's synchronized trampoline.
