Colombian Prosecutor's Office Seizes Lili Pink Assets Amid Smuggling and Money Laundering Probe

The Fiscalía General de Colombia has launched a significant operation, initiating an asset forfeiture process against Lili Pink, a well-known brand in the country. This action targets over 400 establishments across 59 cities, underscoring the scale of the alleged criminal enterprise. The investigation focuses on a sophisticated scheme involving contraband and money laundering, with authorities estimating that illicit funds could reach as high as 730 billion pesos (approximately $200.9 million).

This operation reveals a complex network of import companies, commercial distributors, and shell corporations designed to illegally bring clothing, toys, and cosmetics into the country. These goods were then distributed within the national market, with the aim of creating a facade of legitimacy for illegal activities. The specialized directorates within the Fiscalía, focusing on fiscal crimes and asset forfeiture, have led this investigation, which also includes estimates of illicit enrichment and contraband values.

Beyond the commercial establishments, the operation has led to the seizure of 40 properties, eight vehicles, and one company. Simultaneously, agents are carrying out arrest warrants for individuals allegedly responsible for managing the flow of money and evading customs controls. While the judicial process unfolds, a significant portion of Lili Pink's stores, operating under the legal name Fast Moda SAS, will be placed under provisional state administration. This intervention represents one of the most substantial actions against illicit trade in the region in recent times.
