The U.S. Department of State announced the approval, citing an "emergency situation" as justification for waiving the requirement for congressional scrutiny. This decision, spearheaded by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, allows for the swift transfer of advanced weaponry, including Patriot missile defense systems destined for Qatar and Guided Precision Strike Systems (APKWS) for both Qatar and Israel.
