Costco Canada recalls croissants, toaster oven and other items

Costco Canada has initiated multiple voluntary recalls across a range of products, urging customers to return items due to potential safety concerns.

The affected products include specific models of Panasonic toaster ovens (NB-G205 stainless steel electric), Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo candy bars, Alfa croissants with cocoa cream filling, and children's go-karts. The recalls are prompted by various issues, such as a potential problem with the power cord on the toaster ovens that could pose an electric shock or fire risk.

For the Cadbury bars, the recall is due to the potential presence of pistachios, an undeclared allergen that could cause serious reactions in sensitive individuals. The Alfa croissants are being recalled because of the possible presence of mold. The children's go-karts have a faulty accelerator pedal that could cause immediate acceleration upon battery connection, posing a serious injury risk.

Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) have issued separate advisories for some of these products. While no injuries or deaths have been reported for these specific recalls, consumers are strongly advised to stop using the recalled items immediately. Customers can return the affected products to any Costco warehouse for a full refund. For the go-karts, customers are instructed to contact the manufacturer, Hunter Products USA, for further instructions.
