Couple Dies After Tractor Overturns in Edirne

A tragic accident claimed the lives of a married couple in Turkey's Edirne province. Raşit Taşkın and his wife, Fatma Taşkın, were traveling in their tractor from their home to their garden near Üyüklütatar village when the vehicle overturned. The incident happened on uneven ground as the tractor was ascending a ramp.

According to reports, Raşit Taşkın lost control of the tractor, causing it to flip over. Both Raşit and Fatma Taşkın were trapped beneath the overturned vehicle. Witnesses alerted emergency services, and gendarmerie, medical, fire, and AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Authority) teams were dispatched to the scene.

Firefighters worked to free the couple from under the tractor. However, upon examination, they were pronounced dead. The bodies of Raşit and Fatma Taşkın were transported to the morgue at Trakya University's Faculty of Medicine. An investigation into the cause of the accident has been initiated.
