Croatia's National Parks Announce Drastic Ticket Price Hikes for Summer Season

As the peak tourist season approaches, Croatia's stunning national parks and nature parks are set to introduce their summer pricing, a move that will significantly increase entry costs for visitors. This annual adjustment, while a common practice to manage visitor numbers and fund conservation efforts, will see prices for some of the country's most beloved natural attractions nearly double.

For instance, the iconic Plitvice Lakes National Park and Krka National Park will raise their adult ticket prices from 23.5 and 20 euros respectively to a hefty 40 euros from June 1st through September. This 100% increase for Krka is particularly steep, reflecting the immense popularity and demand for these sites during the summer months. Similarly, Brijuni National Park and Mljet National Park are also implementing price hikes for their boat tours and entrance fees.

However, the implementation isn't uniform across all protected areas. Risnjak National Park is offering a slight reprieve, delaying its summer tariff until July 1st, with prices rising from 8 to 11 euros. In contrast, parks like Sjeverni Velebit are maintaining a consistent year-round price of 7 euros, offering a more stable option for visitors. Nature parks, such as Vransko Jezero, Kopački Rit, and Lonjsko Polje, generally have lower and more consistent pricing structures, making them potentially more accessible alternatives.
