Czech Gripens Scrambled; Operations Halted at Two Polish Airports

Czech Gripen fighter jets were activated and took to the skies in response to a concerning incident over Poland. The scramble was prompted by a temporary loss of radio communication with a small civilian aircraft, which led to the suspension of operations at two major Polish airports.

Airports in Krakow and Katowice halted all flight activities for approximately fifteen minutes. This measure was taken as a precautionary step while authorities worked to re-establish contact with the aircraft and assess the situation. The interruption affected both departures and arrivals, causing a brief but significant disruption to air traffic.

Fortunately, the radio link was soon restored, and communication with the civilian aircraft was re-established. Following the resolution of the communication issue, flight operations at both Krakow and Katowice airports were quickly resumed, returning the airports to normal activity.
