Da Nang establishes two party committees and renames propaganda and mass mobilization department

Da Nang has established two new party committees under the city Party Committee, one for the municipal People’s Council and another for the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the city’s mass organizations.

The People’s Council committee includes six affiliated grassroots party organizations and 75 members. The city Party Committee appointed a 15-member leadership structure for the 2025-2030 term, initially naming 13 members. Nguyen Duc Dung, deputy secretary of the city Party Committee and chairman of the People’s Council, became secretary. Tran Phuoc Son, a standing member of the city Party Committee and standing vice chairman of the council, became standing deputy secretary.

The committee for the Fatherland Front and mass organizations includes 24 grassroots party organizations and 435 members. The city Party Committee appointed 27 people to its executive committee, standing committee and leadership positions, initially naming 25. Nguyen Dinh Vinh, deputy secretary of the city Party Committee and chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Da Nang, became secretary.

Nguyen Thi Thu Lan, standing deputy chairwoman of the city Fatherland Front, became standing deputy secretary. Pham Thi Thao Nguyen, deputy head of the city Party Committee’s Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, became deputy secretary.

At the same conference on Sept. 4, Da Nang renamed the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department as the Propaganda Department. It transferred advisory responsibilities for mass mobilization to the new party committee for the Fatherland Front and mass organizations, and renamed the department’s leadership titles accordingly. The city Party Committee also met with officials included in the planning for city-level leadership and management posts for the 2025-2030 and 2026-2031 terms.
