Da Nang police test over 37,000 for drugs, find 1,370 positive

Da Nang City Police have intensified their crackdown on drug-related offenses, conducting extensive drug testing across the city. Over a 23-day period, authorities administered tests to more than 37,000 individuals, resulting in the identification of 1,370 positive cases.

This operation is a key component of a broader campaign launched in August by the Da Nang City Police. The initiative aims to proactively prevent, detect, and combat various forms of crime and legal violations, with a particular focus on drug offenses. The police force has deployed significant resources, including personnel and equipment, to achieve these objectives.

Beyond drug enforcement, the police have also made progress in other areas. In August, they investigated 89 out of 100 reported criminal cases, achieving an 89% resolution rate and apprehending 210 individuals. In the fight against drug crimes and social evils, 215 cases involving 395 offenders were uncovered.

Furthermore, the police have been active in combating economic crimes and intellectual property violations. They have investigated 40 cases involving 58 individuals in this sector. A specific three-month campaign targeting intellectual property infringements led to the seizure of tens of thousands of products with an estimated value exceeding 10 billion VND, resulting in 8 cases being prosecuted and 41 administrative penalties issued.
