DAP confident in Pakatan Harapan's strength in Perak

Nga Kor Ming, chairman of DAP Perak, voiced strong optimism about Pakatan Harapan's (PH) prospects in the state, asserting that Perak will not follow the electoral path of Johor and Negeri Sembilan, where PH faced significant setbacks. He described Perak as having a "red wave" of popular support that will defend the coalition.

"This is a starting point for a red wave of the people, which I am confident will rise in the blessed land of Perak Darul Ridzuan," Nga stated during a DAP 60th anniversary dinner. "We believe Perak is not Johor, Perak is not Negeri Sembilan. In Perak, we celebrate diversity and unity with PH."

His remarks contrast with the recent poor performances of PH in the Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections, where DAP lost several seats. Meanwhile, Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar projected a 75% chance of forming the government in Perak, citing the understanding between PN and Barisan Nasional (BN).

Nga also highlighted the achievements of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's unity government, now in its third year, contrasting it with past administrations. He urged the current PH-led government to maintain its service performance and avoid being swayed by negative perceptions. The event was attended by over 1,000 people, including DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang, who also spoke, emphasizing the importance of maintaining multi-ethnic unity during the upcoming National Day celebrations.
