DAP dismisses claims of Pakatan Harapan government collapse

Penang DAP Chairman Steven Sim Chee Keong has brushed off opposition claims that the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government is nearing collapse and that DAP will lose its grip on Penang. He characterized these assertions as mere rhetoric from the opposition.

Sim, who is also the Member of Parliament for Bukit Mertajam, urged his party to focus on the upcoming elections rather than be preoccupied with the opposition's pronouncements. "Yes, they (the opposition) are winning right now. So, my answer to the claim is, let them remain in their 'arrogance.' But we, DAP Penang and Pakatan Harapan (PH) in Penang, will continue to work hard to care for and defend this state and all the DAP seats we hold. That is my answer," he stated.

His comments come after Pas Information Chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari claimed on Facebook that the PH government is "on its last legs" and that an electoral pact between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) could lead to the capture of all West Malaysian states, including Penang.

Meanwhile, Penang Chief Minister and PH Penang Chairman Chow Kon Yeow has called on all DAP members to provide strong support for the party's leadership at both central and state levels. This call follows a reassessment of political strategies after the recent Negeri Sembilan state election results. Chow emphasized the importance of this support for the party to maintain its governance at the state and federal levels.
