Darnu Group Completes First Phase of K. Jelskio Street Reconstruction

Darnu Group announced the completion of the first stage of K. Jelskio Street's reconstruction in Vilnius, an investment exceeding 1.2 million euros in urban infrastructure.

"Before reconstruction, this section of K. Jelskio Street was not adapted for safe and convenient movement – it lacked pedestrian infrastructure, lighting, and safe connections for pedestrians and cyclists," said Mykolas Čiplys, Sales and Rental Manager at Darnu Group. "During the first phase, these pressing issues were resolved on a part of K. Jelskio Street by renovating and better adapting the roadway, and installing pedestrian and bicycle paths separated by a green strip."

The initial phase covered the stretch from the intersection with Parodų Street to the intersection with Šaltūnų Street, including a dead-end street. This involved creating a 6.5-meter wide, two-lane road with new sidewalks, bicycle path connections, street lighting, greenery, and small architectural elements. Additionally, a central 780-square-meter public square was formed, intended to be open to all city residents, featuring commercial and recreational zones, a decorative fountain, and landscaping.

The entire reconstruction, spanning nearly 1 kilometer from the intersection with Parodų Street to the Karoliniškės Landscape Reserve, is planned for completion this autumn in two stages. The project will ultimately include over 1.7 kilometers of pedestrian paths, nearly 400 meters of bicycle paths, and street lighting. The "Sakų" project's first phase, comprising 306 apartments, is also slated for completion this fall.
