Daughter reports mother missing after Nepal floods

A daughter has reported her mother, Enisa Leković from Novi Pazar, missing after losing contact during severe flash floods that devastated Nepal. Leković, a Serbian citizen, was in the country when the disaster struck on August 26.

According to the Novi Pazar Police Administration, the daughter lost contact with her mother on the day the catastrophic floods occurred. She subsequently filed a missing person report. The floods have been devastating, with hundreds of lives lost and nearly 600 foreign nationals currently unaccounted for.

Leković is the sole Serbian national listed among the missing. The majority of the unaccounted foreign citizens are from India, with 178 individuals reported missing. Other nationalities on the list include citizens from the United States, Ukraine, Malaysia, Australia, and the United Kingdom.

The situation highlights the perilous conditions faced by foreign nationals during natural disasters and the challenges in accounting for everyone amidst widespread devastation. Efforts are ongoing to determine the whereabouts of the missing individuals.
